I stumbled upon this story in a weird round about way.
It seems illustrator and filmmaker Dave McKean saw The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo in the last day or so and he tweeted that he really liked it, but having read the book he found it moved too fast. (I loved it and think it's near perfect.)
This morning I found out that, at least in the UK, the Swedish films of the Millienum Trilogy (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl who Played With Fire and The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest) will be getting a released in their full TV versions. The information can be found in the comment section of Digital Fix review of The Girl Who Played With Fire. According to the comment all of the TV versions will run around three hours, which in the case of The Girl who Played with Fire is a good thing because while all of the plot is there characters and background color is completely missing. Fire, as a theatrical film is a weak follow up to Dragon Tattoo.
