This is the story of a divorced woman in her late 50's and early 60's who is looking for love and a life. Along the way she meets Rodolfo, a recently divorced man with some ties to his ex-wife and daughters and she plunges head long into quasi-romance...
Frequently amusing film that manages to sail past it's short coming thanks to an award winning turn by Paulina Garcia in the title role.Garcia makes the long rambling trip through Gloria's life worth the time.
What I really like about the film, besides Garcia, is that this film is about people. It doesn't matter how old you are, I don't think there is a person alive who can't relate to Gloria's plight. I also don't think that there is a person who sees the film doesn't wish that they could handle it all with the grace under fire that our heroine shows. Its utterly engaging and truly something special.
If there is a problem with the film it's that the film is too rambling. Yea this is a slice of life sort of film, but at the same time there is too much drifting.
That said, this is two hours with good people, with a couple of truly big belly laughs. Something to search out.
